A Review on Several Loreal Products.

I'm sure everybody has not only heard of the Loreal Paris brand but also has some of their product in their homes, be it hair, skin, or cosmetics.  Until doing some research for this blog post I didn't realize just how many different Loreal products I had in my own home. For this post I thought it would be easier being as how I received several different products that I should make a video. You can find Loreal at most mass retailers, grocery stores, and of course drugstores. Please watch.

Maybelline Fit Me Collection Review

Maybelline's Fit Me Collection is designed to give your skin a more natural appearance. It covers while letting you skins natural highs and lows come through. Once you find your shade there are concealer's, blushes, bronzers and pressed powder that correspond with your skin tone and are made to compliment it. I immediately bought the entire line right when it came out earlier this year. I have to say that the Fit Collection really does live up to all it claims to do. I felt that the foundation offered great coverage that felt light on my skin and didn't look heavy. However,  I didn't like how the foundations finish is very dewy. I have oily skin, so dewy is never a good finish on me. It made my skin too shiny even with the pressed powder over it. The shininess of course only got worse as the day went on, until my makeup looked and felt as if it was going to slide right off my face. With that said I love the concealer and blush that correspond with my foundation color. I chose the blush in Light Pink. This blush gave me a very pretty flush of color in the perfect shade for my skin. I found it to be very build-able. The concealer is great. Perfect for concealing blemishes and under eye circles. I like to use it around my nose too. I don't use the foundation but the concealer and blush have become staples in my everyday makeup routine. You can find Maybelline and their Fit Me collection at most drugstores, and mass retailers.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple One Step Cleanser Review

I received a 1 fl oz sample of Philosophy's Purity Made Simple One Step Cleanser in my July Birchbox. Purity is one of, if not the biggest seller in philosophy's line and I have heard a lot about it, good and bad.  Philosophy's website says,  "Our award-winning daily facial skin cleanser is formulated to gently cleanse, tone, and melt away all face and eye makeup in one simple step, while lightly hydrating the skin". While this cleanser removed my makeup I didn't feel it worked as well others. My face definitely felt tight after cleansing. I felt that the formula was slightly on the watery side and left my face feeling dry. After about three days my face started to break out. At which point I stopped using it and went back to my old cleanser. Frankly, I feel Philosophy is a little over hyped. I've used several of their body washes and lotions in the past, they smell really great but don't really do much in the way of hydrating or moisturizing. This is one product and brand that is just not for me. Prices for this cleanser range from $10.00 all the way up to $47.50.(Did you just choke a little? That's alright, so did I) Thank Goodness for samples, this is one I will not be purchasing. If you would like to purchase Philosophy you can find it on their website. They are actually having a Christmas in July sale 30% off select holiday items. Hey, at least they smell good. lol

Rose Hips Black Soap Deep Pore Face Wash and Mask

Rose Hips Black Soap Deep Pore Face Wash & Mask By Shea Terra Organics 4oz $18.00
If you read the last post you'll know that this is one of the products from the July Eco Emi package. I was really eager to try this mask. I'll try anything at this point as my skin has been breaking out lately because of the summer heat and humidity. It has been pretty humid and my already oily skin has become more so.
The instructions on this bottle tell you to apply this soap in circular motions onto your face and leave on for 5 to 10 minutes. It stated that you may experience tingling. I would call it more of a slight burning, not too uncomfortable though. The "tingling" only lasted for a short while, and was replaced by the usual tightness that comes with a drying facial mask. Eco Emi states, "This natural formula is like micro-dermabrasion in a bottle, without the abrasion." The bottle tells you that you may also experience some redness. I however didn't have any. My face felt very dry after. I don't know that this is something that I would use often as although I'm not experiencing redness there are areas of my face, especially around my nose that feel raw. I do plan on continuing to use it. I think I'll space it out to once a week or even once every other week and shorten the amount of time I leave it on, to deep clean my pores. I don't know that I'll actually be purchasing this products full size especially at $18.00 for 4oz.

Revlon Crazy Shine

I received a little mini sample of this in one of my recent subscriptions of People Magazine. I was doing my nails yesterday and decided to try it out. I was so incredibly impressed. My nails have never been shinier and to top it off rather then the usual four steps of my regular nail buffer, I achieved a super shiny look in just two steps. Needless to say the next time I'm out I will be buying the full size buffer. I tried to take a picture of my nails but I couldn't get the pictures to come out right. Trust me this is a great buffer. I hear that Rite Aid is having a sale on the Revlon Crazy Shine buffers. For $2.99 you can pick one up for yourself.

Do You Know Candles by Victoria? Here's Why You Should!

So, I have to be honest and say that I have been on a mad hunt for candles that are affordable and don't skimp on quality. There have been countless times that I thought I had finally found these companies. Then I'd start the ordering process only to find that their shipping costs were obscene! So, I continued trudging along in my quest. Spending way to much time Googling,, Yahoo'ing, and Youtube'ing for that elusive perfect candle company. You know how they say love finds you when you least expect it? Well, there I was watching one of my favorite Youtube Beauty Guru's Xsparkage, when she started talking about Candle's by Victoria. She was smelling all these scent tarts, and as she listed one, by one what she had received I got more and more excited. Apple Cider, Blueberry Cornbread, Pumpkin Praline, and so many others. I had to go right on over to her website and check it out. My excitement grew as I looked through all the candles, finding hundreds of scent choices, at extremely affordable prices, and guess what? FLAT RATE SHIPPING at $8.50!!!!! YIPEEE! Along with having a very large array of scents, Victoria offers customized scents in your candles along with choosing their names. Along with your run of the mill candles she has gorgeous candles that look just like desserts. I cannot rave enough about these candles. They are affordable, gorgeous, and the quality and scent throw are amazing. So what are you waiting for? I've introduced you, now head on over to Candles By Victoria!

Zoya Nail Polish in Shay

I received a cute little deluxe sample of Zoya's Fall 2011 Collection is Shay. A gorgeous understated nude, in a beige/pink color. Although it is still summer and everyone is still wearing their summer brights I couldn't help but put this gorgeous color on. It painted on beautifully with a great color pay off. If you are unfamiliar with Zoya polishes they are all made with Formaldehyde, Toluene, Dibutylphthalate(DBP), and Camphor Free Vegan Friendly Formulas. Which is great because ultimately what you put onto your body you are putting into your body.  Zoya Nail Polishes retail for $8 and can be found in Ulta stores, and Fine Beauty Salons & Spas. You can also purchase their polish directly from their website: www.zoya.com

Where to find Freebies?

Over the past several months I have acquired a large amount of really good freebies. Some take little to no work other than providing my email and address others(the really good ones) require only that I take a couple surveys and give my opinion about the product that I have or am about to receive. All the sites that I'm going to list are real and legitimate companies that I myself use, and they are all FREE! I'm going to list them in order of my faves first...

  • BzzAgent I really love BzzAgent. I have gotten and reviewed so many great products through them. To list a few. I've reviewed Covergirl Natureluxe Cosmetics, Tresemme shampoo and conditioner, Laserpegs toys and Children's Claritin. They have had campaigns for Scrubbing Bubbles, First Aid Beauty, Norton and so many more. So many great, well known companies.
  • Crowdtap This one is quite similar to BzzAgent in that they have campaigns that provide you with free samples. Most recently a coupon for any one pair of jeans in Old Navy, along with one for a friend. Crowdtap also lets you earn points by taking survey's that you can cash in for gift cards or donate to your favorite Charities.
  • Influenster This website has you earn badges pertaining to what things you are most interested in. For example, beauty, gadgets, Enviroment, and Mommy badges to name a few. Every few months they release boxes the last one being a beauty box that had all kinds of different beauty products, like makeup, soaps, shaving creams, nail care etc. If you were to get a gadget badge you'd get that box when it was released filed this gadgets and techy stuff.
  • GimmieFreebies Now gimmiefreebies is just a website that directs you to all kinds of free full and sample size product and contests. She checks herself to make sure that nothing posted is a scam and she hasn't lead me astray yet. Great site. I also recommend that you follow gimmiefreebies on facebook as this is where I tend to find most of mine.

Well, those are my favorite most trusted sites. Good luck, I hope you all get some amazing freebies, and happy hunting!
If you enjoyed this post please follow this blog. Its fun and its free! Thanks for reading. :)

Shecky's

There are a few sites that I am a member of  where you can earn free stuff! Shecky's is a woman only site, I'd compare it to Cosmopolitan Magazine, read the articles about fashion, relationships, sex, etc., Comment and earn points towards free stuff. Head on over and check it out. I wouldn't steer you wrong, this is a legit site. Shecky's

Kate Spade's Twirl

I'm pretty sure that Kate Spade's Twirl was one of the samples that everyone received in their June Birchbox. So how was it? Aside from its cute packaging and handy pump, it wasn't for me. I didn't find it to be an offensive smell but I didn't care for it either. I did wear it a couple times and kept it in my purse for about three weeks. The days that I wore it I did receive some comments about how good I smelt from a few people. I found Twirl to be a scent that I would associate with an woman a little older than me, it has a flirty but sophisticated scent. One that I don't care for, for summer.  I couldn't quite put my finger on what I was smelling and was quite surprised upon finding out that it supposed to smell like "pink watermelon" I would describe it as a lightly fruity yet musky scent.

Here is how Kate Spade's website describes the scent.
  • captivating day-to-night fragrance
  • pink watermelon mingles with blackberry and red currant
  • the fragrance is finished with luminous musks and a touch of french macaron (straight from the patisserie, of course).
Priced at $80.00 for 3.4 oz and a whopping $65.00 for 1.7 oz this is definitely not something that I would consider buying for myself.
Interested in checking it out for yourself? Here is the link: Kate Spade's Twirl

June Eco-Emi!

I know it's now July but I missed it's arrival because I was on vacation up in Oregon. I was super excited to see this on  my desk when I arrived home. I have been wanting to get into going green, and organic for a long while now but wasn't sure just where to start. I came across Eco-Emi on Youtube in my obsessive hunt for all things Birchbox. LOL. I am so glad that I found this. It has been so fun to sample these products and see what I like and what I don't before purchasing because we all know that green, earth friendly products tend to be on the pricier side. So if you are like me and you want to get into it but just don't know where to start this is for you.
Here is what Eco-Emi has to say about their service:

"For only $15.00 a month, we will mail you five to ten samples of natural, organic, green, eco-friendly products to your door wrapped in chic earth friendly material made from 100% recycled bottles. All of our packages are adorned with 100% organic or vintage ribbons or we will often use 100% bamboo yarns. Part of the fun is that the package will look a little different every month. You will have the luxury of trying out an array of green products in the comfort of your own home or over a cup of herbal tea with close friends.

What to expect in a box? Well, thats a surprise every month but we try to include an array of products everything from animal friendly makeup to organic brown rice, all natural perfumes to herbal teas and vegan chocolates. We want you to try a little bit of everything so that you will be able to shop completely green in all areas food, beauty, household and more. We strive to feature either organic, all natural, vegetarian or vegan prodcuts. Before you know it you will get to know the labels and companies behind the products and stepping foot into the organic isles or all natural stores will be a breeze."

Like Birchbox it comes with a card explaining the contents of that months box.  As well as coupons and pamphlets from the companies themselves.  This months box had:

Prize Winning's from Birchbox & Stila!!!! Wooohooo!

So last month I entered into a Giveaway that Birchbox was doing on their Facebook page with Stila. They picked ten winners to receive a personalized eyeshadow palette and over $150 in Stila products. I never win anything so this was a huge surprise. I'm still super excited. Until I got my winnings I had never tried Stila because I couldn't afford it. If you've watched my video on my elf haul than you know that I had never used eyeshadow primer I had been using concealer as a primer and I thought elf's primer was just the best thing ever. LOL Well, I was wrong. Stila's Primer Pot is amazing! It just takes the smallest amount on your finger to apply a ligh weight but sticky base for eyeshadow. I could not be more impressed either with the amount of pigment in each eyeshadow. I think its safe to say that I have been converted into a Stila fanatic and I'll be saving up for more.
Here is what I received:
  • 4 pot palette
  • Eye Shadow Pot in Kitten
  • Eye Shadow Pot in Twig
  • Eye Shadow Pot in Puppy
  • Eye Shadow Pot in Barefoot Contessa
  • Prime Pot Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer in Taffy
  • Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Stingray
  • Glamoureyes Mascara Amplifying & Intensifying in Black
  • Double sided Eyeshadow Brush
  • All Over Blending Brush
