Headline Shirts Review and Giveaway!

Do you like funny, clever and just plain fun shirts? Me too! Headline Shirts are right up my alley. I had trouble picking out just one for review. In the end I was stuck between two, I kid you not I was on the website going back and forth between the two for over an hour! Indecisive much? I finally decided on the Marie Antoinette  VIVA LA CAKE shirt. I've actually been fascinated by the life of Marie Antoinette and am well aware that while most people know the quote "Let them eat cake"  they have no idea that she actually never said it. She was a victim of the tabloids of her time. That ultimately lead to her downfall in the opinion of her subjects and eventually her death. That's why I chose this shirt, a woman famous for a quote she didn't utter and her decadence. A decadence that was actually encouraged in the French Court to show position over other women of court. Whether you believe she was frivolous and decadent or not she is undeniably a pop culture figure. In the words of Headline Shirts: "In conclusion, don't viva la revolucion. Viva la cake!" While I find Headline Shirts to be funny and clever most of them are actually thought provoking. I found with my Marie Antoinette shirt it sparked a great conversation.

Alright enough history, let's get into the quality of Headline Shirts. I love mine, it's super soft and I love the cut. The women's shirts are actually cut for women not just an unflattering square cut shirt. I also really enjoyed all the clever quips I found in the shirts label. Made for a good chuckle when I went to wash it.
Headline Shirts is an Eco-Friendly company using Eco-Friendly Discharge Ink and shipped in a 100% biodegradable package. You can purchase your own Headline Shirts here and they're currently on sale for only $14! My only complaint....I want more shirts! Keep up the great work Headline Shirts. If you sign up for their newsletter you get $5 off!! So what are you waiting for? Head over and get yours now, "keep the local baboons employed." LOL.
Want to win one? Well it's your lucky day. Enter Below!

eos New Holiday Lip Balm Collection Review #Holiday Gift Guide

eos or Evolution of Smooth has been a staple in my shower for a while now. I love their shaving cream. My favorites being Lavender Jasmine, and Vanilla Bliss. They smell amazing are free of Phthalate's and Paraben's and enriched with Shea Butter, Vitamin E, Natural Aloe and Oats. Not to mention very inexpensive, I find them to be priced lower then more mainstream shave creams. eos not only makes shave creams, but they also make hand lotions, body lotions, & lip balms.  I have seen the other eos products in ads and all over Youtube but I can never find them at any of the local stores I shop in. Turns out all I had to do was head over to eos' website where I can find exactly what stores carry eos and what products they have in stock! Yeah, so I was shopping at the wrong stores. Well I wish I had done that months ago, I would have already been enjoying the Lip Balm Spheres.

I've finally gotten to try the Lip Balm Sphere's and I have not been disappointed. I got to try the New eos Holiday Lip Balm Collection which includes, Strawberry Sorbet, Sweet Mint and Limited Edition Passion Fruit. These little egg shaped lip balms have kept my lips super moisturized and actually improved the softness of my lips, not to mention they smell and taste great. These lip balms are 100% natural and 95% organic. Here's what eos says about their lip balms:

  • Long-lasting moisture
  • Shea butter & vitamin E
  • Smoothes on clear
  • New smooth sphere precisely glides on to lips
  • Twist-off top
  • Gluten-free
  • Paraben-free
  • Petrolatum-free
  • Phthalate-free
eos lip balm is 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, eos keeps your lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth.

The eos Holiday Lip Balm Collection would make a great gift for a co-worker, teacher, in a gift basket or as a stocking stuffer. I personally love these as a stocking stuffer, and would also include these in a gift basket with other eos products. The eos Holiday Lip Balm Collection retails for $8.99. You can find eos in most mass retailers and drugstores. Head to Evolutionofsmooth.com to find out exactly what stores in your area carry eos.

Goody Double Wear Review

I have a long history with Goody hair ties. I have worn one on my wrist single day since I was 12, maybe 11...Let's say the sixth grade. It's always been about the convenience of having one right there when I needed it. So for about 15 yrs I have had a Goody hair tie on my wrist and never thought twice about it. I mean there was a hair tie in my hair or around my wrist during most of the biggest moments of my life. One was there when I graduated, and even when I gave birth to my son. It just became a habit, that was just apart of my everyday. I only take them off when I shower, even then I have been known to forget. I never thought about it until recently when I started making Youtube videos. I'd notice it when I was editing my video's and think "next time I have to remember to take it off. It looks terrible." Needless to say I still forget. Well, it seems Goody and I are on the same page. I was flipping through Cosmo and there it was. An ad for Goody's new Double Wear hair ties. Cute hair ties that look more like bracelets then hair ties. (cue the singing Angels) LOL.

So you know I had to contact Goody about these great new hair ties, "Ponytailers" as Goody calls them. They agreed to send me some samples and some for you too(more on that later). You get 3 ponytailers for $5.99 They are so cute and come in 3 different designs. You can also buy them in silver or gold. When I first saw them I was reminded of the old ponytailers with the metal, you know before they became "ouchless" and the pain of having my hair ripped out. I'm happy to report that after several days I have not had one hair pulled from the Double Wear ponytailers. Not only do they look cute on my wrist but in my hair as well. I've also since spotted Goody Headwraps that double as Necklaces. Score! Thank you Goody for reading my mind and knowing that I was in need of something better looking and more on the sophisticated side.

You can find Goody's new Double Wear ponytailers at most major retailers. You can also find them in a flash giveaway on my Facebook or Twitter. So be on the look out! These make great stocking stuffer's too.
*I was provided Samples of Goody's Double Wear Ponytailers free for review purposes. I was not paid for this review. All opinions are 100% my own and honest.*

Pond's Wet Cleansing Towelettes Review & Giveaway!!

So, a little over a week ago I received a Target Beauty Bag in the mail. One of the things in the bag was a 5 towelette sample of Pond's Wet Cleansing Towelettes in Evening Soothe. I tend to alternate between baby wipes and different brands of makeup removing wipes. I always use some kind of wipe to remove most of my makeup before I wash my face. On most nights I end up using two of whatever wipe I happen to be using that night. Well imagine my surprise when I decide to use my sample of Pond's Cleansing Towelettes Evening Calm, and I only needed one towelette and my face was so clean! It even completely removed my Mally Beauty Evercolor Eyeliner which is somewhat of a pain to remove normally. I mean my face was CLEAN and there was no residue left by the towelette. Another plus? It smells so good. With Chamomile and White Tea it's designed to help you relax at the end of the day.  I'm in love with these Towelettes. I have found my go to cleansing towelettes. No more switching back and forth between brands and definitely no more baby wipes!  So here is what Pond's say's about their towelettes:

 MORNING REFRESH
• Morning Refresh Towelettes, with microbeads,
polish away dullness to reveal fresh, glowing skin
• With sparkling Citrus and Cucumber scents
• Resealable label helps towelettes stay wet
• Dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic

EVENING SOOTHE™
• Evening SootheTM Towelettes gently clean
away traces of dirt and make-up, even waterproof mascara
• With relaxing Chamomile and White Tea
• Resealable label helps towelettes stay wet
• Dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic

ORIGINAL ALL DAY CLEAN
• Original All Day Clean Towelettes are more effective
at removing make-up and impurities than other leading towelettes
• With Triple Antioxidant Complex and Vitamin E
• Unique diamond textured cloths allow for a deep clean without leaving residue behind
• Dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic
All products currently available. SRP: $4.99 (30/pack)
You can find Pond's products at most major retailers. You can find more info on Pond's Website. I love the Pond's Towelettes so much that I wanted to share. I contacted Pond's and asked if they would be interested in sponsoring a giveaway. Pond's response? They'd love too! So this giveaway is going to be a little different. SCENTsational Soaps Review

I have been a fan of SCENTsational Soaps creator Sarah and her son Chad's Youtube videos for quite sometime. I just love watching Sarah talk about her soaps. She really takes pride in her soaps and takes care to research all her ingredients and common skin ailments. She is very knowledgeable about ingredients in  her soaps and what skin issues they can help with. Not only that but she takes the time to answer your questions.
For three years I have been on the hunt for soaps and lotions that helped heal and soothe my son's eczema. It has been an uphill battle. No matter what I tried or what his pediatrician recommended or prescribed there was always something wrong with everything I tried. I can't even tell you how much money I've spent in the process of trying to find products that work. While there have been one or two products that were effective they were expensive and I just couldn't afford them. I was watching one of Sarah and Chad's Youtube video's about their Propolis Soap, and I just knew I had to try it on my son's eczema.

Sarah from SCENTsational soaps was kind enough to send me a bar of her Propolis Soap $6, Propolis Cool Mint Body Butter $10, the Propolis Healing Salve $12 and many samples. The Propolis products are amazing. They have done what I was starting to think was impossible. I have been using the Propolis products for my son's eczema for about two weeks now and the difference it has made is truly amazing. His rashes are barely visible, no longer red, and he's not itching. I love the Propolis Cool Mint Body Butter, it is the only lotion that I've used for my son that he hasn't told me stings his skin. That is such a relief, not only is it working but it's not causing my little guy discomfort when its applied. This lotion is thick, but doesn't leave that sticky feeling you sometimes get with body butters, and I need only a small amount on my son's entire body. The recent change in weather has caused him to be a little dry so the salve has come in handy on patches of dry skin. The Propolis products are part of SCENTsational Soaps HoneyBee line.
Sarah sent me soooo many samples of her other soaps. SCENTsational Soaps makes; Body Butters,Body Lotions, Body Scrubs, Deodorants, Vegan, Cupcake Soaps (custom order), Goat Milk Soaps, Old Fashioned Soaps, Organic Glycerin Soaps, Shea Butter Soaps, Whipped Parfait Soaps, HoneyBee Soaps (Essential Oil), HoneyBee Naturals, HoneyBee Soap Loaves, Lip Balms.  All these soaps and lotions, come in pretty much every scent you could ever want in a soap. Since I was sent so many sample I haven't gotten to use all of them so I will go through the ones that I have used.

The first soap that I used is one of the Goat's Milk Soaps Believe in Lavender scent. I picked it out first because it smell just like lavender. Not like Lavender soap, but like you are literally outside and you just put your nose to a lavender flower. It smell so good. I have been using it has a hand soap in my bathroom and I love it. It lathers very well into a creamy lather. Believe also comes in Blueberry scented. Other than its amazing smell and great moisturizing properties $1 of each bar sold goes to IDEAS Research which supports the research of Chromosome 15q Duplication Syndrome. The Believe soaps are $5.

The next soap I tried loved and have used up was a sample of the Lime Margarita Whipped Parfait Soap. This soap is another really authentic smelling soap. It smells just like...you guessed it a lime margarita. The whipped soap was so rich and lathered to well. I love it. As with SCENTsational Soaps body butter, when using the whipped parfait soap i only needed the smallest amount of product to create a rich lather and wash my entire body. I literally just dipped my finger into the jar and got a tiny amount out everyday. The little sample jar lasted me 8 days. The whipped soaps come in a large variety of scents. Next up for me to try? The Pumpkin Spice scent, yummy! The Whipped Parfait Soaps are $10 for 8oz.

The last soap that I have been and still am using is the Midnight Safari with Activated Charcoal and Kaolin Clay. I have been using this sample just for my face, and it has made a SERIOUS difference in my skin! My face is less oily, my acne has improved and well I just love it. I never, ever thought this soap would work as well or improve my skin as much as it has. Not because I don't trust Sarah but because nothing ever works. That is, until now. I love, love it. It has the richest, thickest lather of all the soaps I've tried so far and at only $6, it is $6 less than the cleanser I was using before. You can find it HERE.
SCENTsational Soaps are just that, sensational soaps. I highly recommend these soaps you will not regret your purchase and will most likely be going back to purchase more. For even more info on the soaps mentioned in this blog post and to see all the samples I received please watch the video. I will do full reviews as I use the soaps. :) Check them out here: scentsationalsoapsskincare.com

Lakeshore Learning Store Review & Giveaway!

It’s that time! The Holiday’s are upon us.  If you’re like me and love finding your kids toys that are both fun and educational, I have the perfect place. It’s Lakeshore Learning Store. All their toys are educational and fun. If you live near one of their stores I hear that they are great. I don’t live near one of their stores, so I did my shopping online. Which was great, easy and fast. Ok, maybe it wasn’t so fast. I spent a great deal of time deciding what I wanted to order for my 3 yr old. There are so many great educational toys to choose from. It’s like a virtual utopia of educational toys.

With the knowledge that the cold and rainy season is approaching I decided on two toys that are perfect for long days in the house. I chose the Lakeshore Hop Along Balls. Perfect for expending energy and building muscle. Our Lakeshore shipment couldn’t have arrived faster or at a better time, as the rain followed. My son has been bouncing around the house with is Hop along constantly. It has replaced his favorite push car as his favorite mode of transportation. He loves it, and I love it for the peace it brings and the energy it expends. The Lakeshore Hop Along Retails for $14.95 and is worth every penny!

Next up, I chose the Don’t Let the Bugs Fall! Game. It’s like Jenga for little ones. Not only did my 3 year old have a great time playing this game but so did the adults. We all sat down at the table and played several games. This game is great at teaching colors, and building eye hand coordination. It was also a great lesson for my son in learning to wait his turn. The Don’t Let the Bugs Fall! Game normally retails for $16.95 but it is currently on sale for $9.95.

Lakeshore Learning Store is currently having a great sale. It’s the perfect time to get your Holiday shopping done. Sale ends Dec. 24th. To help you with your Holiday shopping Lakeshore Learning is giving 1 Kristy’s Place Reviews & Giveaways reader a $25 Gift Card!

    Myface Cosmetics Review

Have you ever spotted a gorgeous lipstick or eye shadow at the store and brought it home only to find that it was a terrible color on you? Yeah, me too. I hate it when that happens and unfortunately it happens quite a bit, especially because I have yet to find the right shade of red lipstick that doesn't look plain hideous. Well, with MyFace Cosmetics that problem is solved. They ask you to choose your skin tone and then match you with foundation, lip products, and eye shadow that will compliment your skin tone rather then wash you out or look just plain heinous. If your not sure just what skin tone you fall into, they have a short quiz on their website to help you figure it out.
"The brainchild of John Frieda and Gail Federici (creators of Frizz Ease/Sheer Blonde hair care ranges). Myface Cosmetics, is makeup for the 21st century. The combination of top quality European formulas, compelling colors and unique "pay offs" have become the Myface signature statement. Makeup is more than pressed powders and foundations; it is a tool that can telegraph moods, make a statement, tell the world who you are."
While I haven't sampled that part of their product line. I did get to try out a few products from their Bling line which is designed to match all skin tones. I was sent 2 eyeshadows in Silver Screen and Bellbottom Blues, with 2 nail polishes that are the exact same colors, Silver Screen and Bellbottom Blues. When I first pulled these shadows out of the box I wasn't sure about the Bellbottom Blue, but let me tell you it is just gorgeous. The prettiest shade of blue and a shimmer that gives your eyes the look of having on wet or cream shadow. The Silver Screen is just as gorgeous with the same wet effect and high shimmer. These shadows are definitely not for those like don't want to be noticed. They are bright and the shimmer is eye popping. Perfect for a night out. I've already got a plan to use these colors for my New Years Eve night out. The shimmer could almost be described as glitter, but without the giant flakes, a really fine glitter. Which is a huge plus. Be forewarned that even the skilled makeup artists are going to get some glitter fall out. I recommend doing your eyes first before applying the rest of your face makeup because of the glitter that will inevitably fall. I took about a million pictures and none of them do justice to the colors and glittery shine. I love these shadows!  These shadows retail for $18 and you can find them here:Blingtones Eyes.

The polishes dried really fast and smoothly. They dried into a what I would describe as a chrome finish, but glossier. Usually I dislike chrome polish because it dries matte, but this polish has a slight gloss finish. You can snag this polish for $10 and can be found here: Blingtones Nails.

Last but certainly not least. I was sent the Slinky Matte Liquid Eyeliner. This eyeliner is great, glides on easily, dries quickly and stays put. Like its name implies it dries perfectly matte. Doing my research on this product I found that Myface Cosmetics states that you can also apply it over tattoos to refresh the black color. Intrigued,  I tried it on a little piece of my tattoo and was pleasantly surprised to find that it does indeed give my tattoo the look that it is still new. I totally forgot about it and went to bed without washing it off, and it looks even better the next day, but it definitely won't survive the shower. Now if I could only stay in the lines of my tattoo when tracing the eyeliner on. I'd be all set. This liner retails for $12.Check it out here: Eyes

The Verdict? I love this brand. The colors are beautiful, the color pay off is huge, and they are really high quality. Definitely a great buy.I would really love to try their product line based on product designed for your skintone. Myface Cosmetics is a UK based company and as of right now you can only purchase their products online here: Myface Cosmetics.
You can also find them on Facebook and Twitter.

*The products in this review were sent to me for my consideration. All opinions are my own and 100% honest. I was not paid for this review.*

Once Opened Beauty Expiration Kit Review

Just a month ago I wrote about the importance of knowing when to throw out your makeup. Once makeup is opened and exposed to air certain ingredients in your makeup begin to oxidize, degrade and start to allow bacteria to grow and spread. This bacteria can cause not only acne, but nasty rashes and even pink eye. If you'll remember from the last blog post makeup comes with a symbol on the bad that tells you how many months it will last one opened. While that's a great thing to have most of us don't tend to remember when exactly we opened our makeup.

That's where Once Opened Beauty Expiration Kits come in. These cute, and compact little kits come with self lamenated labels, a mini fine point permanent marker, and a handy card with common the "life expectancy" of makeup guide. The lamenated labels protect from water and oils that permanant marker alone are not resistant to. I love these kits. Such a great idea, making it easy to remember when its time to throw out old makeup. Also a great excuse to go out and buy some new makeup;) Very simple to write down the date opened and stick onto the back of your makeup. Very reasonably priced at $7.50 and can be purchased here: Once Opened. There is a special just for my readers get yours for $6.95+ free shipping with promo code: clean310.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Having trouble entering the Peter Pauper & Scentsy Giveaways?

Blogger is giving me a terrible time today and the Peter Pauper Rafflecopter Widget is showing up on the Scentsy Giveaway widget. In order to fix it I had to insert a page break, so unfortunately the Rafflecopter widget doesn't show up until you hit the Read More button at the bottom of the post. When done this way the right entry form should show up for both. Please let me know if you have any problems. They are both really great giveaways. Good Luck and have fun!

Scentsy Giveaway Sponsored By Beauty n' Scents with EdieAnne!!!

I am so excited to announce a giveaway sponsored by Beauty n' Scents with EdieAnne! As most of you know I was just recently introduced to Scentsy and let me tell you I am completely hooked. Before Scentsy, I was paying $30+ dollars a month on candles. Now I get all the benefits of candles, but without the hazard of fires and burns. The really great thing though...I'm now spending only $5 or $10 a month on Scentsy bars.
Scentsy bars are only $5.00 for 8 cubes. I find that I only go through one bar a month and I tend to have my warmers on all day.  If your really in love with a scent you can buy a giant brick for $20.00. (I think I might get a brick in Luna)  I have a midsize warmer in my office that makes the entire house smell amazing. I also have the Zebra Plug in, in my bedroom. Next up? A plug in just for my bathroom. I love all the scents and I'm especially loving the holiday scents, I have Pumpkin Roll warming in my warmer as I type. Makes me so ready for Thanksgiving.  Their are over 80 scents to choose from and so many great warmers to suit any style.

I can't seem to tell everyone enough just how great Scentsy is. My solution? A Giveaway! Thanks to EdieAnne...
One lucky winner will win a Plug In Warmer and 3 Bars of their choice!!
Update: NO Scentsy Consultants Please! All entries by Scentsy Consultants after this update is posted 11/10/11 @4:23 PST will be invalid. Thank you.

Peter Pauper Press, Review & Giveaway

I'm so happy to be able to do a review and giveaway for Peter Pauper Press. Peter Pauper Press has been making fine books and gifts since 1928. I got to choose which item I wanted to review and let me tell you it was tough! There are so many great products. From Organizers, calendars, personal diaries, stationary, and  many books about travel, etiquette, family memories and so much more.
I was so torn, finally I decided on a great hardcover book entitled The Book of Me: A Do it Yourself Memoir. There are 192 pages of great writing prompts starting from what you may know about your mother's pregnancy and going all the way up to the here and now. Towards the end of the book there is even a writing prompt that is a letter to your future great, great grandchild. I love that! I have always enjoyed looking at old pictures and asking questions of my grandparents about their own lives and what they know about their parents and grandparents. Usually, I find that they have forgotten a lot of details. What a great way for me to preserve facts about myself and my parents while its all still somewhat fresh in my mind. I hope that this will be a treasured keepsake for my family for many years to come. At only $14.99 this is a great keepsake and a wonderful gift for loved ones. I highly encourage you to head over to Peter Pauper Press and check out all their great products. You can find them here: www.peterpauper.com.
Want to win your own copy of The Book of Me: A Do It Yourself Memoir from Peter Pauper Press? Easy Entry through Rafflecopter.

    Coastal Scents Review

I had heard so much about Coastal Scents, but had never made a purchase because I don't particularly like ordering anything cosmetics wise off the Internet that I haven't seen or used in person. I am so glad that Coastal Scents allowed me to do a review. Coastal Scents offers, eyeshadows, foundations, concealers, lip products, brushes, bath & body products and you can even make and customize your own makeup.  I love the palettes that I chose and I will definitely be purchasing more.

The 88 Warm Palette was my first choice. I just had to get it. I tend to stick to warmer neutral shades and this palette delivers. The color selection is just gorgeous and perfect for Fall, Winter, and well anytime of year. There are mattes, satins, and shimmers. The colors are a range of browns, golds, coppers, purples, blacks, silvers, blues, greens and whites all in warm shades.  I cannot begin to tell you all just how gorgeous these colors are and the many looks you will be able to achieve with the 88 Warm Palette. The one thing I will say is that I was a little surprised by the size of the pans. Once I thought about it though I realized that they really are the perfect size considering the amount of pans and the fact that eyeshadows should be thrown out after 12 mos. The Warm Palette retails for $24.95. I have to say though, that I can't recall a time that I haven't been on the website and them not having one sale or another.  I'll get to the latest sale at the end though.

Next up I chose the Eclipse 15 Concealer Palette. This is a cream palette. This palette has every shade of concealer you could ever need as well as color corrector shades. Green to correct redness. Lilac to correct and normalize sallow complexions and eliminate yellowness of the skin. Yellow to correct purplish skin problems such as under eye circles, blemishes and bruises. There is even a white for highlighting. Love this palette. It retails for $14.95
    Moscow

New to Coastal Scents are their Go Palettes. There are twelve Go Palettes total. I chose 3, the Paris, the Moscow, and the Nuuk. These are great little palettes. They retail for $8.95.  Like the warm palette from above each palette above each of these palettes has a variety of matte, satin, and shimmer.
My favorite of the 3, I chose is the Moscow, I just love the colors in the Moscow Go Palette.
    Nuuk

My second favorite of the Go Palettes I received is the Nuuk. My camera had trouble picking up the swatches for the Nuuk but they are gorgeous. I would describe the Nuuk as more shimmer and frost. Light colors great for highlighting. Or even over another color as most of them are very sheer with a soft shimmer. My favorite is the Nuuk is a shade that is opaque white with light pink shimmer. Love it.
    Paris

Last of the Go Palette I got is the Paris. This palette was so-so. All the colors look just gorgeous in the pans but not all of them swatched to be as dark or as true to the way they looked in the pans. I loved the coppers and blues in the Paris Go palette, but some of the others were disappointing.
So the Verdict? I'm definitely a fan of Coastal Scents. I love all the palettes I received. Definitely worth the price and the shipping was fast with several different options for shipping.
