Coastal Scents Review

I had heard so much about Coastal Scents, but had never made a purchase because I don't particularly like ordering anything cosmetics wise off the Internet that I haven't seen or used in person. I am so glad that Coastal Scents allowed me to do a review. Coastal Scents offers, eyeshadows, foundations, concealers, lip products, brushes, bath & body products and you can even make and customize your own makeup.  I love the palettes that I chose and I will definitely be purchasing more.

The 88 Warm Palette was my first choice. I just had to get it. I tend to stick to warmer neutral shades and this palette delivers. The color selection is just gorgeous and perfect for Fall, Winter, and well anytime of year. There are mattes, satins, and shimmers. The colors are a range of browns, golds, coppers, purples, blacks, silvers, blues, greens and whites all in warm shades.  I cannot begin to tell you all just how gorgeous these colors are and the many looks you will be able to achieve with the 88 Warm Palette. The one thing I will say is that I was a little surprised by the size of the pans. Once I thought about it though I realized that they really are the perfect size considering the amount of pans and the fact that eyeshadows should be thrown out after 12 mos. The Warm Palette retails for $24.95. I have to say though, that I can't recall a time that I haven't been on the website and them not having one sale or another.  I'll get to the latest sale at the end though.

Next up I chose the Eclipse 15 Concealer Palette. This is a cream palette. This palette has every shade of concealer you could ever need as well as color corrector shades. Green to correct redness. Lilac to correct and normalize sallow complexions and eliminate yellowness of the skin. Yellow to correct purplish skin problems such as under eye circles, blemishes and bruises. There is even a white for highlighting. Love this palette. It retails for $14.95
Moscow

New to Coastal Scents are their Go Palettes. There are twelve Go Palettes total. I chose 3, the Paris, the Moscow, and the Nuuk. These are great little palettes. They retail for $8.95.  Like the warm palette from above each palette above each of these palettes has a variety of matte, satin, and shimmer.
My favorite of the 3, I chose is the Moscow, I just love the colors in the Moscow Go Palette.
Nuuk

My second favorite of the Go Palettes I received is the Nuuk. My camera had trouble picking up the swatches for the Nuuk but they are gorgeous. I would describe the Nuuk as more shimmer and frost. Light colors great for highlighting. Or even over another color as most of them are very sheer with a soft shimmer. My favorite is the Nuuk is a shade that is opaque white with light pink shimmer. Love it.
Paris

Last of the Go Palette I got is the Paris. This palette was so-so. All the colors look just gorgeous in the pans but not all of them swatched to be as dark or as true to the way they looked in the pans. I loved the coppers and blues in the Paris Go palette, but some of the others were disappointing.
So the Verdict? I'm definitely a fan of Coastal Scents. I love all the palettes I received. Definitely worth the price and the shipping was fast with several different options for shipping. Their current sale is a site wide dollar off sale. $10 off and $50 Purchase, $20 off any $100 Purchase, and $50 off any $200 Purchase. Offer end Nov.10 at 9AM EST. So, head over and check out Coastal Scents.

  2. Hi, I have also heard of this brand but when it comes to makeup I am often skeptical. How were the pigments? I usually go for Urban Decay because it doesn't take a lot of applications to show. Sometimes the less expensive brands take tons of layers to actually show the color on me. I am all for finding less expensive good brands. Thanks! Love the blog!

  3. @Kristin The pigmentation is great and they applied very well and easily. I don't know how they compare to UD though because I have never used UD.
