A Look at April's Eco-Emi Box!

When Eco-Emi's founder Christine emailed me and said I was going to receive the April box, I was ecstatic and I stalked my box from the moment it was shipped and I got my confirmation until earlier today when my mailman dropped it off. For those of you who have a subscription to Eco-Emi you can probably understand my excitement. If your not familiar with Eco-Emi, let me tell you a little about it.

Eco-Emi is a Eco-Friendly, Green and Vegan monthly lifestyle subscription service. Rather than just getting cosmetic and beauty samples, you get a mix of food, household, cleaning, health and wellness products.  It being a lifestyle box is great for me because I get to try a little bit of everything and helps introduce me to great Green Companies. I personally find the world of Green and Eco-Friendly products extremely overwhelming. Eco-Emi has helped so much, and I've found some products and companies that I had been passing up before and use everyday now. The cost of Eco-Emi is $15 monthly for residents of the US and $30 monthly for International residents.  Payments are easy and secure through Paypal.

How Beautiful is This Picture?
Each month Eco-Emi has a theme or cause. April's cause is  Mr. Ellie Pooh  an Eco, fair trade company in Sri Lanka that makes paper and gifts out of elephant pooh in an attempt to save Asian Elephants in Sri Lanka. In Sri Lanka Elephant habitats are being depleted by humans. When Elephants come looking for food they are killed because they are getting into crops. For more info on this cause/company please go to their website: www.mrelliepooh.com (Beautiful Scrapbooks)

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition *New Formula* Review

I have to be honest and say that I was not a fan of Garnier Fructis' old formula. So I was interested to try the new formula when I was asked to join the Garnier Fructis BzzCampaign through BzzAgent. Those who joined the Garnier Fructis BzzCampaign were asked to choose between the Triple Nutrition and Sleek and Straight. I chose the Triple Nutrition because I have been dealing with a lot of split ends and damage from heat styling, coloring and tying my hair up so often.

Before I get into my personal review let's go through What Garnier says about the new and improved formula:
  • Works best with dry or damaged hair
  • Nourish hair to the core so it shines from within
  • Formulated with fortified Fruit Science- three weightless nutritive fruit oils(olive, avocado, and shea)
  • Packed with ultra rich and nourishing conditioners that rinse clean- we dare you to find something that treats your damaged hair better!
  •  Part of a larger Triple Nutrition line that includes Nutrient Spray and 3 Minute Undo Dryness Reversal Treatment
  • Now in Greener bottles containing PET(most widely recycled plastic) and 30% Recycled plastic. Also 10% lighter which saves over 125 tons of plastic annually.

I've been using the Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition shampoo and conditioner for a little over 2 weeks now.  I'm finding that my hair is more shiny, and so incredibly silky and smooth. I have zero knots (no joke) and I can't stop running my fingers through my hair. The shampoo is the creamiest, and richest formula I have ever used. I was amazed at the thick, creamy lather that this shampoo created. The shampoo alone is great. I have started to use the shampoo in my 3 yr old's hair. It leaves his hair so soft, and moisturized and most importantly clean without making it feel like straw.
The one negative that I have found is that it makes my naturally oily hair seem to get oily faster then it normally would with my old shampoo and conditioner.  That being said, it doesn't effect it so much that I wouldn't use it. I also think it may be getting oily faster because I'm constantly touching it now too. (I can't help it. It's so soft!)

You can find Garnier Fructis products in most drugstores, grocery stores and mass retailers. The suggested retail price is $3.99 for 13oz bottles and $6.99 for the 25.4oz bottles.

"Like" Garnier on Facebook and learn about all the latest coupons and giveaways.

*I'm a member of BzzAgent and I received these products for free to sample in exchange for my honest opinions. Join BzzAgent, it's free and fun! https://www.bzzagent.com*

Dollar General Comes to California

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dollar General for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
DGLogo09yellow_notag.jpg
As a new couponer, I have heard so much about the great deals at the Dollar General. Along with offering low prices, the Dollar General accepts manufacturers coupons as well as releasing their own. Until recently I’ve never been able to enjoy the deals I was reading about as I didn’t have a local Dollar General. I no longer have to feel left out of the savings loop, because Dollar General is now in California. Needless to say I was really excited when I learned that not only was the Dollar General coming to my area (Bakersfield, CA) but we were getting two stores!  Whoo-hoo!
This was my first trip into the brand new Dollar General in Bakersfield. I had no idea what to expect but I’m happy to say that it exceeded my expectations. It was very clean and organized. I was initially thinking that I might find a lot of no name brand items, but was happy to see mostly name brands that I recognized and at a great discount. The discount was normally of a dollar or more and very few items were priced the same as other stores.  The Dollar General located closest to my home carries just about everything you need all in one trip and I mean everything. Dollar General has stuff for home, home cleaning products, baby care, toiletries, toys, pet care, cosmetics, and food. Food wise I found just about everything including refrigerated/frozen items like milk, eggs, cheese, lunchmeat and frozen pizzas. The only thing they didn’t have were meats. Some Dollar General Stores have full Markets were you can purchase all your groceries. While we have one of the Dollar General Markets in Bakersfield I didn’t go to that particular store. You can find your closest Dollar General Market here:  http://dollargeneralmkt.com/Locations. The layout reminded me very much of a Drugstore, just without the pharmacy and with more variety and products.
After walking around the Dollar General several times and just checking everything out.  I made my way back into the cosmetics section (I can never help myself!) and picked up a bottle of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Color in Blue It for $2.50, Loreal Voluminous Million Lashes for $8.00 and a bottle of Queen Helene Mint Julep Face Mask for only $3.00 which I have been looking for, forever! I’m not the only one who walked out with goodies. My 3 yr old found a few things that he like as well, I liked them too as they were really inexpensive. He picked up a Bow and Arrow Play set for $2.00 and two coloring books for $1 apiece.  We walked out with several goodies for each of us and spent less than $20. Win! And that wasn’t even with coupons¸ can’t wait to go back next time armed with my coupons for some major savings.

Nature's Sleep Terry Slippers w/Memory Foam Review

I am a person whom hates and I mean hates not having shoes on. Even in the house I need shoes of some sort or I'm not comfortable. The only time I go without shoes of course is when I'm sleeping. This is a relatively new thing for me, up until about 3 yrs ago, I was the complete opposite. I hated shoes. Any who, Since I feel the need to have something on my feet at almost all times, house shoes aka slippers are  something I go through quite often. The reason being is that I've never splurged for a nice pair, and instead opted for slippers from Target and Walmart. They never last long and are not usually comfortable for very long, loosing the cushion after only a couple days. Needless to say, I jumped at the opportunity to do a review for Nature's Sleep Slippers.

Nature's Sleep offers Slippers made from the same memory foam as their mattresses. Yep, they are THAT comfortable. Their are two styles. Closed Toe and Opened Toe, and they come in a variety of different colors. I opted for the closed toe in tan. I've been wearing them constantly for about a week now and they are still just as comfortable as the day I first put them on. I love the soft memory foam and that the foam offers support for the arches of my feet that normally aren't supported with slippers. Another great thing about the Nature's Sleep Slippers are the thermoplastic rubber soles, which means I can actually wear them outside if need be and not worry about them getting wet. As well as them being able to withstand a lot more wear.

Here's what Nature's Sleep says about their Slippers:
Plush comfort and luxury with every step.  Indoors or out, these closed-toe slippers offer the perfect balance of softness and support in thanks to the visco-elastic memory foam inner sole, which cradles and contours to your feet while absorbing pressure and impact.
  • S, M, L, XL
  • Upper/inner sole 80% cotton/20% polyester; lining 100% polyester; thermoplastic rubber bottom
I am loving my slippers and until recently I have to be honest and say that I didn't know that Nature's Sleep offered Slippers. I only knew them as a mattress company. Ever growing and finding new ways to make us all more comfortable. Maybe they'll make a memory foam couch next?...On second thought I hope they don't do that. Then I'd never get off it!

The Nature's Sleep Closed Toe Terry Slipper's are $30 and can be purchased on their website. Nature's Sleep Mattresses and other products can be purchased all over the US in many Mattress Retailers and Sleep Shops or of course on their website http://www.naturessleep.com/. Also Like them on Facebook to be alerted to all their sales and deals. Groupon usually has great deals for Nature's Sleep as well.
