This remarkable technology yields a waterclear, featherweight product that diffuses the look of pores and fine lines, helps makeup last and last, and helps protect your makeup look. Finishes a look, mattifies and smoothes, without the dry, ashy look of powder. Apply with the uniquely luxurious buffed edge Japanese sponge.”
I have been using Mally’s Evercolor Poreless Face Defender for several weeks now. It’s completely colorless, and the best way I can describe its texture is that it feels similar to a silica based primer. I’ve tried it with several different foundations. I find that it works better with liquid foundations, rather than creams and mousses. With liquid foundations I find that it works at mattifying and staving off oil longer, but even with liquid I find that after several hours I do need a touch up because I have become oily. With liquid foundation Mally’s Face Defender
works beautifully. I apply it by patting it over my makeup when I’m finished and
immediately get a flawless matte finish, and it works to diffuse any
areas where I have larger pores. I really like the look that I get from
Mally’s Evercolor Poreless Face Defender, but as I have oily skin and
tend to get even oilier in the humid Summer months, I feel like it would
last longer and work better for me in the Winter and Spring.
Using the Poreless Face Defender with cream and mouse foundations I find I become oily faster than with liquid and when I reapply no matter how gingerly I pat the Face Defender on it tends to take off a good deal of makeup.
That being said, I have one gripe about the Evercolor Poreless Face Defender and that is the sponge. While the shape of the sponge is awesome the fact that it is pretty big and doesn’t fit into the compact is terrible. With oily and acne prone skin the last thing I want is my sponge just floating around my purse and makeup bag. Why oh Why, Mally? I’m sure making the compact large enough to fit the sponge would make it bulky, maybe keep the shape of the sponge but make it thinner and fit it into the compact?
Other than my dislike of not being able to fit the sponge into the compact, I think the Poreless Face Defender does a great job at giving my skin a really great flawless appearance as well a mattifying my face very well.
Mally BeautyEvercolor Poreless Face Defender retails for $40 and can be purchased at mallybeauty.com as well as QVC.
